Mission Possible Today Tomorrow Beyond and our partners strive to reduce food insecurities in families and children through daily food distributions for hunger relief.

Currently, over 35 million Americans reside in households experiencing food insecurity, which represents approximately 10.5 percent of all households in the United States. Furthermore, one in every eight households with children lacks the financial means to provide an adequate amount of food for their families.
In Dallas County, there is a projected number of 171,000 children living in food-insecure households in 2021, ranking it fifth highest in the nation. This is an increase from 139,800 children in 2019, where it also held the fifth spot.
In the specific context of Tarrant County, the State of Texas Children's report indicates that about 26 percent of children in the county, totaling 130,880, are classified as hungry. When examining the demographics of the families we primarily assist, we find that 80 percent identify as African American, 15 percent as Hispanic, and the remaining 5 percent as either White or from other racial backgrounds.
Checking Date Labels
We can all contribute positively to reducing food waste by changing the way we think about food. Instead of throwing away food based on misunderstandings of date labels, let's focus on the quality of the food we consume. By recognizing that everyone deserves access to good quality, nutritious food, we can make a difference in our communities. It's important to remember that the appearance of fruits and vegetables or the date labels on packaged food does not always indicate the last date that food is safe and nutritious. Let's work together to ensure that everyone has access to healthy and nourishing food.
